SPEEDWAY RACING

Another large crowd of 7000 people witnessed an exciting programme of midget car and motor cycle races at Western Springs Stadium last Saturday night. T,he Invitation Stakes, a race of six laps, provided one of the most exciting finishes seen at the Speedway for many years. J. Malcolm came right through the field to gain first place in the last lap, while T. Sutherland beat R. Crowther to second place by a wheel. Results:— STADIUM HANDICAP, four laps.
