GIFT TO CHURCHILL

FROM AUSTRALIAN PEOPLE LONDON, Dec. 22. The Australian High Commissioner, Mr. Bruce, presented the Prime Minister, Mr. Churchill, with a walking-stick of figured blackwood mounted with gold from Bendigo, which was sent by the acting-Prime Minister of Australia, Mr. Forde, in a bomber, as a gift from the Australian people. Mr. Bruce said that the stick was a symbol of the admiration, esteem, and affection in which Australians held Mr. Churchill for his brilliant leadership of the British people.
