PRACTICAL WELCOME
WHAT U.S. TOWN PLANS CHICAGO. Metropolitan areas are not the only localities that a;-e making extensive plans for returning servicemen. With only 30 men in the armed forces, Shuman Township, N.D., is looking forward to the return of its sons from active duty. Headed by four farmers without any sons of their own in the armed forces, citizens have organised a committee to see that each of the local veterans who wants to farm gets the chance when he gets back home. Sixteen of the Shuman Township men in service have told the folk back home that they would like to return to farming after the war, but only two have the farm and money to begin work. However, the committee has 22 farm plcts available, and although some of the land does have building facilities, the group plans to do its best to meet the issue.
