CAR STRIKES POLE

■ • HOLIDAY PARTY'S ILL-LUCK O.C. HAMILTON, this day. Plans for a holiday in Auckland were spoiled for a party of Hamilton residents when the light car, towing a trailer, in which they were just setting out struck a power pole at the corner of London Street and Harwood Street about 6.20 a.m. today. The car, driven by Mr. G. P. Brough, 48, London Street, .contained four adults and two children. One child tried to climb from the back seat to the front. This distracted the driver's attention, and the car struck a pole with sufficient force to shift the base several inches. The lines were not broken. An ambulance took the party to hospital, but they, were found to have escaped injury beyond bruises and shock. The front of the car was badly damaged.
