Mr.' F. Gembitsky, district traffic manager at the Auckland railway station, will return from the south to-night. Mr. F. K. McNatty, district manager of the Public Trust Office, Rotorua, has been transferred to Wellington. His successor will be Mr. W. E. Wilson, of Timaru. Lord Gowrie, formerly GovernorGeneral of Australia, has joined the board of directors of Dalgety and Company, Limited, according to cabled advice received by the company from London. Mr. A. Hesketh, superintendent of the Government gardens at Rotorua, retired to-day after nearly 18 years in that position. During his service at Rotorua Mr. Hesketh was responsible for the development of the gardens into one of the show places of New Zealand and the laying out of the Motutara golf links and the tennis courts nearby. He has served in the Tourist Department in Hanmer, Te Aroha and Queenstown, where he laid out the famous alpine rock gardens.
