"AMAZING EXPERIENCES"

GUNNER FROM ONEHUNGA Gunner Geoffrey George Speight, who was this week reported by cable to have joined the Allied lines after "amazing experiences" in Germanheld Italy since escaping from a prison camp at the time of the Italian capitulation, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. K. G. Speight, Captain Springs Road, Onehunga. He was educated at the Te Papapa and Auckland Grammar Schools, and played football for the Manukau Club. . A member of a New Zealand artillery field regiment, Gunner Speight was taken prisoner at Sidi Rezegh in November, 1941.
