BOMBING TOKYO
THRICE IN SIX DAYS Jap Report Of Night Attack Not Confirmed N.Z. Press Association—Copyright Rec. 12.30. WASHINGTON, Nov. 20. Twenty-first Bomber Command announced that Tokyo was attacked from Saipan to-day for the third time in six days. No details are available at present. Tokyo' radio stated that minor formations of enemy planes penetrated the Tokyo area before noon to-day. Fires were started in two places, which were immediately under control. Practically no damage was done. The Super Fortress, which dropped incendiaries and flares, were given a hot reception by Japanese interceptor planes, added the radio. Chungking picked up a Domei broadcast threatening any American parachuting to Japanese soil will be killed on the spot by the angry Japanese people. Tokyo radio stated that Super Fortresses raided Tokyo from 11,55 last night to two o'clock this morning (Tokyo time). The radio added that a small formation made a second attack from 4.15 a.m. to 5 a.m. today. There is no confirmation of this report. JAP NAVAL AVIATION PRACTICALiIiY ELIMINATED Rec. 1 p.m. WASHINGTON, Nov. 29. Japanese naval aviation has practically been eliminated, said ViceAdmiral Marc Mitscher, commander of Task Force 58 of the United States Pacific Fleet, at a Press con-
ference. He pointed out that United . States naval flyers had shot down approximately 4000 Japanese naval flyers in the past 18 months. "I have an idea that Japanese plane production is not as great as they would have us believe," he added.
