Mr. A. O. Heany, secretary of the Associated Chambers of Commerce; left for Wellington yesterday.

Mr. G. E. Breeze, chief surveyor of ships and deputy-controller of shipbuilding, arrived from Wellington to-day.

Mr. A. J. Tyson, manager of the Hamilton branch of the Bank of Australasia, has been appointed manager of the Christchurch branch. He will be succeeded by Mr. J. T. Butler, of Wellington.

Mr. J. B. Stewart, president of the Associated Chambers of Commerce of New Zealand, was elected to the council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce at a meeting of the Council this morning.

Mr. A. P. Postlewaite, president, and Mr. K. C. Aekins, chairman of the Auckland centre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society, returned this morning from Wellington, where they attended a meeting of the Dominion council.
