Fifth And Eighth Armies Report Captures

N.Z. Press Association —Copyright Rec. 10 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 20. British and Indian troops of the Eighth Army entered Cesena. northeast of Rimini, and cleared all resistance east of the Savio River, states to-day's Allied communique from Italy. East of Cesena, Dominion Eighth Army troops enlarged the bridgehead over the Pisciatelio River. They are continuing their advance towards the Savio River.

In the central sector Eighth Army forces made local gains south of Galeta. Heavy fighting continues south of Bologna.

British Fifth Army troops captured several important features on the right flank of the American drive.

American Fifth Army forces continued to make progress against undiminished resistance and cleared the town of Lorenzone. Reuters Rome correspondent reports that American armoured forces in a new advance up the Pistoja-Bologna Road, reached Marano.
