RECOMMENDED THAT SHORE CRICKETERS TRAVEL MORE OFTEN

Source of discussion for manyyears, the question of the North Shore cricket teams playing a majority of their games at Devonport was raised by the PonsonbyBalmoral Club at the annual meeting of the Auckland Cricket Association this week. Ponsonby-Balmoral recommended that the North Shore senior and senior B teams travel alternately, and that when circumstances were opportune all senior clubs be allotted home grounds, and the senior and senior B teams of those clubs play home and away matches. The chairman, Mr. W. R. Fee, remarked that though there was reason in the recommendation that North Shore should play more games in the city, the North Shore Club had a financial obligation with regard to its ground and that should not be lost sight of.

The recommendation was referred to the incoming management committee.
