MRS. ISABELLA MUNRO

AUCKLAND ASSOCIATIONS

Over 102 years of age, Mrs. Isabella Bain Munro died in a convalescent home at Onehunga this morning. Mrs. Munro lived until recently at Sixth Avenue, Tauranga, but upon the death last week of her son, Mr. J. B. After her marriage to the late Mr. William Munro, a ship's officer, Mrs. Munro lived in Scotland and London. In 1903 she and her husband came to New Zealand, and Mr. Munro established a shipwright's business in Auckland. The family lived at Ponsonby and Onehunga and later, when .Mr. Munro retired from business, at Lake Rotoiti. Mrs. Munro's husband died in 1916.

' Active and very alert, Mrs. Munro took pride in assisting with the housework until leaving Tauranga. She is survived by a son, Mr. William Munro, of Sumner; a daughter, Mrs. T. E. Smith, of Onehunga; two grandsons and three granddaughters and nine great-grandchildren.
