Mr. R. D. Greenwood is at the Royal Hotel. Mr. L. Mills, former postmaster at Henderson, has been appointed postmaster at Otahuhu. The Mayor of Auckland, Mr. AJlum, will return from Wellington by air this afternoon. Captain R. E. Price, chairman of the Waterfront Commission, will return to Wellington by air to-mor-row morning. Mr. J. W. A. Heenan, Under-Secre-tary of Internal Affairs, arrived from Rotorua last night. He is at the Station Hotel. Mr. W. J. Truscott, president of the Auckland Manufacturers' Association, left by air for Wellington this morning. He will return on Saturday. Mr. R. W. Carpenter, Mayor of Waipukurau, has been appointed by the Minister of Marine as successor to the late Mr. R. McLean on the Napier Harbour Board. Mr. H. R. Chalmers has been elected a life member of the Wellington Racing Club. Mr. Chalmers is vice-president of the club and is in his third term as president of the New Zealand Racing Conference.
