COMMISSION GAINED

Advice has been received by Mrs R. W. Milne, of Heme Bay. that her husband, Lance-Sergeant R. W. Milne, has gained a commission after attending an officers' training course at a military college in England. Second-Lieutenant Milne left New Zealand in 1941 and fought in the campaign in North Africa, being wounded at El Alamein. He later' went to Italy and was a member of the first draft selected there for a commission course in England. He is the son of the Rev. and Mrs. R. W. Milne, of Ponsonby.
