FIRM'S £375 LOSS

THEFT OF MATERIALS

PREMISES BROKEN INTO

Covering materials for chesterfield suites were taken from the premises of Allan and Vibert, Limited 164, Grafton Road, last Friday nigh{ the loss being estimated at £375. The thieves broke into the building by smashing a window at the rear

A representative of the firm stated to-day that evidently those who were responsible for the theft understood materials well, for they had shown much discrimination in selecting a dozen rolls of coverings of the best quality. Under present conditions these materials could not be replaced. Besides the theft of the coverings, a gold coloured bedspread was taken.

About a year ago the building -was entered, and an attempt was made to force open the safe, a broken key being left in the lock.
