HIGH PRICES EXPECTED
LONDON, September 12. With the prospect of an early resumption of normal racing, prices at Tattersalls yearling sales at Newmarket on Wednesday and Thursday are expected to soar to a new wartime peak, probably totalling £300,000, says the Daily Telegraph. Heavy bidding is likely lor a colt sired by Earl Derby's Hyperion, the most, valuable horse in the world, worth £100,000. All the notable sires will be represented, including Lord Derby's Fairway, whose offspring have won £12,000 in stake money this season. Lord Rosebery's Blue Peter, winner of the last pre-war Derby, and sire of this year's Derby winner, Ocean Swell, and also the syndicate-owned Nearco, -winner of the 1938 Grand Prix de Paris.
