OPENING TO PUBLIC

TO AID LOAN CAMPAIGN

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Minister of Defence, Mr. Jones, announced to-day that in connection with Air Force Week of the Victory Loan campaign, which commences next Monday, Air ne^ cities and towns will be opened to the public on Saturday afternoon, Se 4hi?fs the first time since the war broke out that the public have been allowed on Air Force stations, said the Minister, but in view _oi the changed war situation, which permits of some relaxation of the security precautions, this will now be possible. On such aspecialoccasion the opportunity will be taken to display various Air Force activities i ° n "RN I A. will be seen flying in formation over Wellington next Monday at 350 miles an hour, added the Minister. Band to Parade in Auckland "The band of the R.N.Z.A.F. returning from a three months' tour of tne Pacific, will parade in Auckland on September 20, and subsequently m Wellington. I sincerely hope the loan will be assisted materially, added the Minister. "Money is needed for keeping our Air Force abreast of developments, including new aircraft. We have still a formidable enemy to face in the Pacific, and we have reason to believe ihat the Japanese are conserving their air power and gathering strength for the dimcult and, perhaps, long struggles which lie ahead."
