RICH FATHER FINED
LONDON. The father of two public school boys was fined £5, with £2 9/ costs, at Kettering for failing to take a job as a clerk at £5 a week in the L.M.S. goods department at Kettering. He was Frederick Albert Sulch, of Kingsley Avenue, Kettering, head of a turf commission firm. The firm was said to be one of high repute conducting a successful business. It was stated that he had visited a National Service officer several times in an effort to secure part-time employment so that he could exercise supervision over his business, which, he was ready to admit, was not one of national importance.
