WOMEN OF WARSAW
APPEAL SENT TO THE POPE Rec. 1.30 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 7. The Pope has sent a message to the Polish President, M. Rackiewicz, replying to an appeal made to him by Warsaw women for aid, says the Press . Association. The message states: "More than once during the last years we have raised our voice to remind the world of the principles to which the fighting sides have adhered during the war, and the tmsis of justice and mercy on which 'peace must be built. "We wholeheartedly endorse the new appeal which is directed to us, with the desire not to leave anything within our power undone to save so many threatened human lives." j
