POOR QUALITY FOOTWEAR
(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, this day. "Will the Minister take steps to deny further licenses to importers who import under-grade footwear, and to protect New Zealand manufacturers who at the Government's request, are arranging the production of standard quality shoes?" asked Mr. McCombs (Govt., Lyttelton), in notice of a question to the Minister of Customs, Mr. Nash, in the House of "Representatives yesterday. Mr. McCombs also asked the Minister whether he considered it would be possible to require retailers holding stocks of poor quality shoes to inform customers of their poor quality.
