LAND SALES COURT
JUDGMENT ON APPEALS
In two appeals out of three the Land Sales Court upheld the decision of the North Auckland Land Sales Committee. In the third case the appeal against the decision of the committee was upheld. In this case, concerning the purchase of a farm bv Benjamin George Burgess from Ellen May Williams, approval was given by the committee for a sale at £3350. " The Court fixed the basic value at £3775. stating in the preamble to the judgment that 'as is proving not uncommon on appeals the appellant came before the Land Sales Court with a great deal more evidence than was adduced before the committee." The. other two cases also concerned northern farm deals. In the case involving the sale of a farm by Arthur Wallace Dunford to Rex Percy Bundle the Court gave consent to the sale at £4200. the figure fixed by the committee. The Court added that if the sale was not completed by August 20 the appeal would be dismissed. With a similar condition the Court also approved the committee s price of £3025 for a farm on sale from James Neil McCarroll to Lillian Gwendolyn Clarkson.
