Bombers Disrupt Enemy

Rec. 12.30 p.m. LONDON, June 30.

Allied fighters and fighter-bombers all day kept up the harrying of enemy road and rail communications over a wide area of France, says an official announcement. Marauders pounded the rail junction between Mezidon and Falaise.

Mustang fighter-bombers bombed a large warehouse at Arville, east of Lemans, and the rail tracks at Villafrance and north-east of Beaugency. They also damaged a large concrete bridge on the outskirts Of Beaugency. Thunderbolt and figJtterbombers in the Orleans area* reported a direct hit on railway lines in front of a tunnel, also the destruc- 1 tion of five machine-gun emplacements.

Fortresses and Liberators, by instruments through cloud and without loss, bombed three airfields in Northern France and one in Belgium. Escorting Mustangs divebombed aerodromes, marshalling yards, a canal lock and barracks. No fighter opposition was encountered. Allied air fleets were again streaming out across the Channel this evening. Berlin radio announced that strongly-escorted American bombers this morning met heavy anti-aircraft fire on the outskirts of Vienna. German and Hungarian fighters intervened and fierce battles went on over the Danube and the GermanHungarian frontier.
