RECIPROCAL AID
AUSTRALIA AND U.S. Rec. 1 p.m. CANBERRA, this day. Reciprocal aid by Australia to the United States forces up to April oO last had reached £150,000,000. Announcing this the Acting-Prime Minister Mr. Forde, said: "£90,000,000 of the expenditure had been incurred in the 10 months from July, 1943. Supplies for the American forces were not confined to everyday items such as food and camp stores, but included substantial quantities of technical equipment. Road making machinery alone was supplied to the value of £1,500.000. Food, however, was still the largest item at £30,000.000. Ciothing also represented a considerable sum.
