CASE AGAINST YOUTH
ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGE (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. "An application to the AttorneyGeneral for a stay of proceedings in this case has been declined, and a fixture has been made for July 6 at Timaru," said Senior-Detective H. Nuttall in the Magistrate's Court this morning, when John Arthur Carey, farm hand, aged 17, was charged that on January 27, at Mount Nimrod, he attempted to murder Isabel Mai Howell. Accused, who was represented by Mr. A. B. Hobbs, was remanded by Mr. E. C. Lewey, S.M., to appear at Timaru next Thursday.
