WAGES INCREASED
YOUNG FARM EMPLOYEES (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The first alteration of wage rates for lower-paid categories of workers authorised bv the recent amendment of the stabilisation regulations was gazetted to-night. It is the Agricultural Wages Fixation Order, 1944. The order is effective from August 1, at which date the following increases will apply:—Workers under 17 years, increase from 24/6 to 31/9 a week; 17 and under 18, from 31/6 to 40/9; 18 and under 19, from 38/6 to 49/9; 19 and under 20, from 46/ to 59/6; 20 and under 21, from 53/ to 68/6; over 21, from 60/ to 77/6. The lodging allowance is unchanged at £1 a week.
