NEW SCHOOL PLANNED
TO MEET ROTORUA'S NEEDS ROTORUA, Thursday. Plans are in preparation for the establishment as soon as possible after the war of & new primary school to serve the western and southern suburbs of Rotorua. A number of possible sites in the area have been inspected by the Auckland Education Board's architect, Mr. A. B. Miller. It is understood the one favoured is a well situated block of approximately five acres in Ranolf Avenue. The district the school is destined to serve has grown rapidly in the past few years and most of the State houses in the borough are in that area. The Rotorua primary school which was built seven or eight vears ago, to accommodate about 500 pupils, now has a roll of 694. The school is on the priority list for additional prefabricated classrooms, of which it has been allotted three. These buildings are expected to come to hand shortly. The question whether the proposed new establishment will be a complete new school or a "side" school has not yet been determined.
