Large Additional Area In Central France SAFEGUARDING THE REICH Rec. 1 p.m. LONDON, June 11. The Germans have assumed executive power over a vast area of Central France, including the department in which Vichy is situated, stated Vichy radio. The departments affected are Allier, Cantal, Haute Loire and Puy de Dome. The reason for this action is stated to be the safeguarding of Germany. Vichy radio on Friday warned traffic off the roads in Allier, Haute Loire and Puy de Dome, except for doctors and food lorries. It proclaimed that all other motorists would be shot on sight.
