HOUSE BUILDING
By dint of careful saving I purchased a section and now have arranged finance, secured a building permit and tentatively let a contract. But after reading letters by "Another Old-time Builder" and "Efficiency" in reference to the sale of new houses I realise that if I am transferred to Wellington in a year or two I will be forced by the Land Sales Act to sell for hundreds of pounds below cost price. This I certainly cannot afford, so am reluctantly cancelling all arrangements and must continue to live with my family in two small rooms at 35/ per week.
