WHARF ON MANUKAU

REQUEST FOR EXTENSION

On behalf of forty residents at Orua Bay and Graham's Beach, Manukau, Mr. H. R.- Mackenzie presented a petition to the Auckland Harbour Board yesterday requesting that the Orua Bay whal-f be extended so that a launch service could be maintained at all tides.

Mr. Mackenzie said that although the district was SO miles from Auckland by land, it was only 16 miles distant by water.

The matter was referred to the Manukau Harbour Committee, which will receive a deputation from residents.
