AIRGRAPH SERVICE
MEMBERS OF R.N.Z.A.F,
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday.
New Zealand airmen training in Canada are being encouraged to make more frequent use of the airgraph service to New Zealand. During January nearly 6000 airgraph letters were forwarded by Australian and New Zealand airmen m Canada. The February total reached 7000.
Owing to delays in receipt of surface mail, there have been many inquiries for the welfare of individual members of the R.N.Z.A.F. in Canada, but it is explained that such inquiries are unnecessary. No matter where he is serving, a wireless message is sent to the Air Department, Wellington, when any member of the R.N.Z.A.F. is reported seriously ill or seriously injured. These messages are in addition to those sent for battle casualties. Next-of-kin are informed immediately wireless messages affecting personnel are received.
