PHOSPHATE PROSPECTS
Addressing shareholders at the annual meeting of Kempthome. Prosser's New Zealand Drug Company in Dunedin, the chairman of directors, Mr. F. M. Oldham, said advice had been received from the British phosphate commissioners that prospects for increased supplies of rock were distinctly favourable and they therefore looked for a larger output from their works during coming years. In the meantime they had not been standing still. A recently completed acid unit at 'Vestfield was now in operation, plans were being prepared for extensions at Wanganui, and further plants were being installed at -Hornby and Burnside.
