CROWDED SCHOOLS
In the Star recently I read a speech by Mr. Acland (Nat.) that there were not so many children going to school as in 1926. 1 wish he would come to this small town of Te Puke and see how many more go here. The school building is crowded, and the" Anglican and Presbyterian Church halls and a private boarding house are used for the overflow. Now, this all is extra work for the teaching staff as well as for the mothers who have to send their children further to school For some time a new school has been promised, and the ground is ready. The sooner it is built the better it will be for the children and staff concerned. I have been in this town for 43 years, so I know how the children have increased. SUBSCRIBER.
