SOLDIER TEACHERS

SUPERANNUATION PROPOSAL

Representations that military service of soldier-teachers of either the present or the previous war should count as double service for superannuation purposes, and that teachers who show evidence of a breakdown in health as a result of war stress be given full superannuation were made by the Auckland Education Board some time ago. A memorandum from the Superannuation Board received by the board states that the representations have been brought to the notice of the Education Department. The rights of returned soldiers, it is stated, will receive sympathetic consideration of the Superannuation Board.
