A SEARCH FOR TALENT
VOCALISTS AND MUSICIANS To commemorate the New Zealand centenary, the Auckland branch of the Society of Registered Music Teachers of New Zealand instituted in 1940 a "patron's fund," with the primary object of presenting to the public talented vocalists and instrumentalists, as it is felt that there are few opportunities to appear on public platforms under satisfactory conditions. As an experiment the society proposes to give two or three recitals this year, commencing in June. Three or four artists will take part in each concert, and classical, romantic and modern works of merit will be performed. To ensure interesting and wellbalanced programmes the council of the society will choose the items. In offering these opportunities the society hopes to produce some real talent from town and country musicians, whose work is of sufficient merit and who desire to perform in. public.
