CITY WATER DEMAND
DRAWING ON RESERVES Water reserves in the dams on the Waitakere Ranges are being drawn upon to the extent of 10,000,000 gallons daily. The amount in storage is 1,009,000,000 gallons. The dams, when filled to capacity, hold 1,569,000,000 gallons. The last heavy rain was on February 21, when the reserve supply increased considerably. Since then there have been occasional showers, but during the past week the weather has been warm, and the volume in the streams feeding the dams has decreased. . ' The ban on the use of hoses is still operating.
