MR. H. S. LIDDELL

The death has occurred of Mr. Herbert Stephen Liddell, well known in produce and stock circles in Auckland. Mr. Liddell was a son of Mr. Stephen Liddell, of Gisborne, and as a young man was in business there as a seed merchant. On coming to Auckland 30 years ago he took up a position with Messrs. Alfred Buckland and Sons, and at the time of his death was manager of one of that firm's departments. Mr. Liddell took an active part in matters relating to primary industries in Auckland and was chairman for many years of the Auckland Fertiliser Merchants Distributors' Association. He was the secretary of the Progressive Association at Beachlands and also of the Domain Board from the inception of those bodies. Mr. Liddell is survived by his wife.
