B.N.Z. SHARES RISE SHARPLY

Bank of New Zealand shares were in keen demand on the Auckland Stock Exchange to-day, and with business at £2 .V, and more wanted at that price, the highest level was reached for many years. This represents a pain of Sd over last week's price and of 2/ since the beginning of the year. The bank's r> long-term mortgage shares also had firmer offers at £1 13/3. Among industrials to make further gains were Reid Rubbers and Farmers' Fertilizers. Government stocks were firm, with very little offering.
