SERVICE WEDDING

JOHNSTON—DA WSON BRIDE IN IVORY SATIN St. Andrew's Church, Lower Symonds Street, was the scene of a pretty wedding, when Miss Fay Dawson, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Dawson, jun., of Mount Eden, was married to LeadingAircraftman Donald Frederick Johnston, R.N.Z.A.F., youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Johnston, of Kerne Bay. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. The bride, who was given av/ay by her father, wore a graceful gown of ivory satin, the long waist of which was outlined with flat niching to match the similar trimming on the full, slightly-trained skirt. Her fingertip-length veil of ivory tulle fell from a coronet of white bouvardia and she carried a , bouquet of cream waterlilies.

The matron-of-honour, Mrs. S. Walker, sister of the bridegroom, and the bridesmaid, Miss Joy Dawson, sisetr of the bride, wore skirted frocks of seagreen taffeta. They carried bouquets of scarlet dahlias and bouvardia, and ware head sprays to match. The bridegroom was attended by Leading-Aircraftman A. Binns, R.N.Z.A.F., as best man, and by Leading-Aircraftman S. Holmes, R.N.Z.A.F., as groomsman.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the Domain tea kiosk, where the bride's mother, wearing a suit of aqua blue and a shoulder spray of flame gerberas, received the guests. Mrs: Johnston wore a powder blue suit with silver fox fur and a shoulder spray of dark red roses.
