AIR FORCE LEAVE
I am quite disgusted at the way they are treating the Air Force boys by not allowing them on the trains to visit their homes when on leave. To think they have to hitch-hike all the way from the Waikato area and then again going back. Haven't the mothers and wives got enough to worry about them being away without having to worry about whether they are going to get back safely or not? I think while they are in New Zealand it is not much to want to get home when they get leave. They leave New Zealand all too soon, so why stop them while they are here? If they cannot use the trains, why not run their own trucks through for them? It's not only now. When the boys had their Christmas and New Year leave they were not allowed on the trains until the next day after their leave started, as it •happened to be a race day, and Air Force boys wouldn't be paying so much fares as the race people. Then they wonder why boys don't join up when they know how their brothers are treated. ONE WHO KNOWS.
