SHARES STILL RISING

Demand was keen and turnover was moderate on the Auckland Stock Exchange to-day. All bank scrip was in strong request, but .sellers, except for New Zealands at £2 5/, were off the market. An odd parcel of Union Banks brought £S 4/G. compared with the last sale at £7 12/0 on January 19. Shares in Imperial Chemical Industries (A. and \ T .Z.). which reports a .higher net profit, sold at El 11, previous local business being at £1 5/ nearly a year ago. The firming trend in shares in the Woolworth group was continued. Government, issues remained very firm.
