APPEALS DISMISSED

SALMI PENALTIES STAND The appeals of Mr. H. Birckman, owner of Salmi, the trainer, S. Mc-Greal, and the jockey, Jt. W. Shaw, against the disqualification for six months imposed upon them by the Matamata Racing Club in connection willi the running of Salmi in the First Railway Handicap on February 5, were dismissed yesterday by the Auckland District Committee. The committee approved the penalty imposed in each case by the Matamata Clubb and, further, ordered that the deposits lodged with the appeals be forfeited.
