MISSING ON OPERATIONS

Wing-Commander Kenneth Fred. Vare, navigator instructor in the R.A.P., who was named in the New Year Honours list as having received the Air Force Cross, has been reported missing on operations. WingCommander Vare was a member of the Wellington Aero Club before the war and gained a pilot's license in 1937. He gained part of his Bachelor of Commercj degree before leaving for England to take up a commission with the Royal Air Force. Wing-Commander Vare is the only son of Mr. and ! Irs. F. W. Vare, of Wellington, and a nephew cf Mr. A. and Miss I. Vare, of Mount Eden.
