(1) CIVIC WEI.COME AND LUNCHEON, The Mayor and Corporation of Auckland have invited all Members of the Second Furlough Party and Returned Personnel (including Nursing Sisters, V.A D.'s end W.A.A.C.'s) who have returned from service with 2nd Division. 2nd N.Z.E.F., Navy, Merchant Navy and R.N.Z.A.F. Overseas Service, since the date of arrival of the First Army Furlough Party on 13 r .h July, 1943, ONLY, to attend a Civic Welcome and Lunchcon at the TOWN HALL, AUCKLAND, on WEDNESDAY, 23rd February. 1944. and for this purpose, so that citi/cns of Auckland may have opportunity 10 welcome this personnel, they are asked to parade as under: (2) ASSEMBLY. Personnel will assemble in ALFRED STREET and PRINCES STREET, and will form up in sixes lacing towards LOW r ER 3YMONDS STREET. The area concerned will be marked off, with rlecards showing the grouping as follows, from head of column, in rear <>f Band at junction oi ALFRED and LOWER SYMONDo STREETS. Papakura, will play the troops through the city. (9) DISPERSAL At the close of the Luncheon at the Town Hall, troops will disperse independently. (10) ALTERNATIVE ARRANGEMENTS FOR WET WEATHER. If the weather should be such as to prohibit the march (in which case a notice will be broadcast over IYA and IZB at 1000 hours), personnel will assemble at 1145 hours in the Drill Hall. Rutland Street, and will move cfl at 1215 hours— route RUTLAND STREET to TOWN HALL, where they will proceed straight to the luncheon room, the programme being carried out in the luncheon rcom. Provision is made for men's coats under the seat of each chair. NOTE: Seating accommodation for ceremony of Civic Welcome outside Town Hall is being provided for slightly incapacitated Servicemen who cannot take part in the march. Whore necessary, transport will be provided to take such Servicemen to the Town Hall, who must be seated by noon.
