BENNETT SHIELD REGATTA Thirty-four crews from five provincial clubs have entered for the eight races at the Bennett Shield regatta to be rowed at Cheltenham beach next Saturday. Five crews are from the Hamilton Club and reports are that they are up to the river club's standard. The first race starts at 2 p.m. and the draw for positions. West End 4, Waitemata 5 Light Fours.—Barrett Cup: Hamilton 1, West End 2, Waitemata 3, North Shore 4. Open Pairs.— Mason Cup: Hamilton 1, West End 2, Waitemata 3 North Shore 4, Auckland 5. Youths' Fours (under 18). —Cooke Cup: West End No. 1. 1: West End No. 2, 2; Waitemata 3. North Shore 4 "Hamilton 5. Youths' Pairs.—Clarke Shield: Waitemata 1, North Shore 2, West End 3. The R. F. Bennett Memorial Shield is awarded the club gaining the greatest number of points. All crews must finish the full course to secure points.
