CIVIC WELCOME
RETURNED FURLOUGH DRAFT
All personnel of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force who have returned from the Middle East since July 23, 1943, will be given a civic welcome by the Mayor, Mr. Allum, in the Town Hall next Wednesday. Nursing sisters, voluntary aids, members of the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps, naval personnel and airmen who have served overseas in the battle areas will be included in the reception. A parade will assemble in Princes and Alfred Streets at 11.15 a.m., leave at 11.45, and proceed by way of Lower Symonds Street, Anzac Avenue, Beach Road, Breakwater Road, Quay Street and Queen Street to the Town Hall. Speeches will be made in front of the apex of the Town Hall, and afterwards the men and women taking part in the parade will be entertained at luncheon in the Town Hall. The ceremony in front of the Town Hall is expected to begin at about 12.15.
