FORTY APPEALS

HARDWARE FIRM'S POSITION Forty appeals were lodged by the firm of Hardley's, Limited, on behalf of reservist employees, at this morning's sitting of the No. 1 Armed Forces Appeal Board. One appeal was withdrawn, and the rest were adjourned sine die. The works manager, Mr. J. Greenhalgh, said that the firm was in arrears with its orders for dairy equipment. All material was issued under permit, and could not be obtained for non-essential work. Most of the men appealed for were brass moulders, finishers and sheetmetal workers.
