PUBLIC NOTICES AUCKLAND METROPOLITAN MILK COUNCIL. MILK AND CREAM PRICES. At a meeting of the Auckland Metropolitan Milk Council, held on the 15th day of February, 1944, it was resolved that the following prices be fixed to come into force on the Ist day of March, 1944, and to remain in force, unless previously altered or revoked by the Council, until the 31st day of August, 1944. 1. PRICE TO BE PAID TO A DAIRYMAN BY A MILK VENDOR: (a) For Separated Cream bought for the cream trade, on the basis of 2/4 per lb butterfat. If delivery of such cream takes place elsewhere than at the dairy premises (i.e., the farm), or at a collection stand, the cost of transport to be borne by the purchaser. (b) For Milk for Separation into cream for the cream trade: (1) If delivery is taken at the dairy premises cr at a collection stand, 10', id per gallon. (2) If delivery is taken elsewhere, 11 l-8d per gallon. (c) For All Milk, except as provided in subclause (b), hereof. l/s'/ 4 per gallon. Subject to such one or more of the following deductions as may be applicable, namely: (1) In the case of Milk purchased by a Milk Vendor, delivery whereof is taken at the dairy premises or at a collection stand, a deduction nf 7-Bd per gallon. (2) In the case of Milk purchased by a Milk Vendor and chilled, but not pasteurised, by him, a deduction of 7-Cd per gallon. (3) In the case of Milk purchased by a Milk Vendor and pasteurised by him, a deduction of 2 l-8d per gallon. i 2. PRICE TO BE CHARGED BY MILK VENDORS FOR CREAM, SAVE ONLY IN ANY CASE WHERE A DIFFERENT PRICE IS SPECIFICALLY FIXED (price in each case to include delivery): (a) Sold to a Roundsman for resale on a milk round or to a Milk Vendor for resale by wholesale: (1) Where sold loose in quantities of not less than 30 gallons in any one week, 12/- per gallon. (2) Where sold loose in quantities of less than 30 gallons in any one week, 13/per gallon. (3) Where sold in sealed bottles, for each quarter pint Gd. (4) Where sold in cartons or other containers of a like nature (not being bottles): (a) For each carton or container holding 4oz, 6d. (b) For each carton or container holding Boz, lid. (b) Sold to the Proprietor of a Milk Shop for resale in such shop, 14/- per gallon. (c) Sold to any person for any purpose other than for resale: (1) Where the quantity sold is not less than 5 gallons in any one day, 14/- per gallon. (2) Where the quantity sold is less than 5 gallons and not less than 1 quart in any one day, 15/- per gallon. (3) Where sold loose or in sealed bottles in quantities of less than one quart in any one day: (a) For quarter pint, 7cL (b) For half pint. 1/-. (c) For one pint, 2/-. (4) Where sold in cartons or other containers of a like nature (not being bottles) in quantities of less than a quart in any one day: (a) For 4 ounces, 7d. (b) For 8 ounces. 1/-. (c) For 16 ounccs, 2/-. (d) In a quantity not specified above the price to be in proportion to that fixed for the nearest lower specified quantity. 3. PRICE TO BE CHARGED BY MILK VENDORS FOR CREAM SOLD IN CARTONS TO PROPRIETORS OF FRUIT SHOPS LICENSED TO i SELL CREAM IN CARTONS (price in each case U\ include delivery)': vJt) For each carton containing 4 ounces, 6d. (b) For each carton containing 8 ounces, lid. 4. PRICE TO BE CHARGED BY MILK VENDORS TO ANY SHIPPING COMPANY OR AGENT THEREOF IN THE MILK DISTRICT. (a) For Cream containing not more than 30 parts per cent by weight of milk fat (this price to include delivery within the Milk District), 9/3 per gallon. (b) For other Cream the prices fixed by subclause (b) of Clause 2 of this resolution. 5. PRICE TO BE CHARGED BY MILK VENDORS I TO ANY HOSPITAL BOARD constituted under | the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, \ 1926. for Milk sold to such Board for con- 1 sumption or use in any Hospital or Infirmary j in the Milk District controlled by such Board j (this price to include delivery within the j Milk District), l/7 3 ,4 per gallon.

PRICE TO BE CHARGED BY MILK VENDORS FOR MILK: (a) Bought by a Roundsman for resale on a milk round or by a Milk Vendor for resale by wholesale (price to include delivery): (1) Where bought in quantities of not less than 20 gallons In any one day, 1/6 per gallon. (2) Where bought in quantities of not less than 10 gallons In any one day by a purchaser who was a dally customer of the Vendor throughout the whole of the period from September, 1943, to January, 1944 (both inclusive), and whose daily purchases from the Vendor during such months averaged not less than 10 gallons, 1/6 per gallon. (3) In all other cases. 1/B'i per gallon. If in any of the above cases the Milk bought is bottled milk the price thereof shall be increased: (1) Where the purchaser supplies the bottles and crates, by l'id per gallon. (2) Where the purchaser does not supply the bottles and crates, by 2d per gallon. (b) Bought by the Proprietor of a Milk Shop for resale in such shop or sold or used therein (price to include delivery at such shop): (1) Where bought In quantities of not less than 10 gallons in any one day, 1/10 per gallon.

(2) Where bought in quantities of less than 10 gallons in any one day, 1/11 per gallon. For the purpose of this Resolution "Milk Shop" means any shop, room, building or part of a building or place in or at which any person is licensed by the Council to sell Milk by retail. Where any person is the proprietor of a milk shop as above defined, and also of any milk bar, tearoom or restaurant, and such person on any day buys from a Milk Vendor a total quantity of not less than 40 gallons of milk for sale in such shop, and also lor use in such milk bar. tearoom or restaurant, the price to be charged lor all of such milk shall be the price fixed for such quantity under sub-clause (c) hereunder. (c) Bought by any person save only in any case where a different price is specifically fixed (price to include delivery): (1) In quantities of 10Q gallons or over in ,any one day. 1/9 per gallon. (2) In quantities of under 100 gallons and not less than 75 gallons in any one day, 1/10 per gallon. (3) In quantities of under 75 gallons and not less than 40 gallons in any one day, 1/11 per gallon. (4) In quantities of under 40 gallons and not less than 10 gallons in any one day, 2/- per gallon. (5) In quantities of under 10 gallons and not less than j gallons in any one day, 2/1 per gallon. (6) In quantities of under 3 gallons and not less than one gallon in any one day, 2/3 per gallon. Bottled Milk in each of the foregoing cases to be 2d per gallon extra. (7) In quantities of under one gallon in any one day: (a) Bottled Milk: Per quart, 7 , / 2<J. For V/ 2 pints, bought and paid for separately, 6d. For one pint, bought and paid for separately, 4d.

For half pint, separately delivered, ■whether bought and paid for separately or in any other way, 2d. If an account is rendered for a period exceeding one day the rate per quart shall apply (save as to half pints abovementioned) to the total quantity included in such account. (b) Loose Milk: Per quart, 7d. For I*2 pints, bought and paid for separately, sVzd. For' one pint, 3Vud. For a half pint bought and paid for separately, 2d. if an account is rendered for a period exceeding one day the rate per quart shall apply to the total quantity included in such account. In the application of the foregoing prices each delivery of Milk at any premises not being those of the Vendor or purchaser of such milk shall be treated as if it were a separate sale of such milk to the occupier of such premises. 7. Where any of the foregoing prices for Milk or Cream is fixed at so much per gallon, quart or other measure, the price for a portion of a gallon, quart or other measure shall, unless otherwise stated, be in proportion. 8. The prices fixed by the foregoing Resolution shall not affect in any way the prices fixed by resolution of the Council dated the 16th day of August. 1943, relating to Milk and Cream sold by Dairymen and Milk Vendors for use in the manufacture of ice cream or confectionery.
