PRIVATE ENTERPRISE VITAL Most people felt that 1944 was likely to be one of the greatest years in the world's history, and yet on every hand there loomed problems of the most intricate character, said Mr. W. It would be a thousand pities if the successful conclusion of the war ushered in a fight by the enemies of private enterprise for a complete change in the industrial system. This could only mean the end of our democratic way of life, and would bring disappointment, disillusionment and dislocation to their national progress.
