TRANSPORT USERS
NORTH LAN I) CONFERENCE (0.C.) WHANGAREI. this day, With a view to protecting the interests of users of- transport in Northland, especially farmers, a meeting of representatives of Northland public and private bodies was held here this morning. The meeting was called at the instigation of the Northland Dairy Association and the Farmers' Union which '•were of opinion that a users' committee similar to that operating in South Auckland should be set up, as it appeared the best interests of users would not be served unless there was co-ordination of evidence between the various parts of the Dominion. Mr. A. C. Sexton, a member of the Goods Services Charges Tribunal set up by the Government, was present to supply the meeting with details of the tribunal's working. The meeting was held in camera.
