NEW U.S. CONSUL
ARRIVAL, IX DOMINION Mr. Prescott Childs, new Consul and First Secretary to the United. Slates Legation in Wellington, has arrived in New Zealand. He is to succeed the present Consul-General, Mr. Raymond E. Cox, who leaves shortly for Washington. Mr. Childs has held position? .in the United States Foreign Service in Canton, Berlin, Lisbon. Nice, Montevideo and Rio de Janeiro. He was born in 1898 at Holvoke, Massachusetts, and graduated from i<"G University. He served in the last war and is a keen archaeologist.
