TWO BREACHES ADMITTED A recent visit paid by the police to the Glendowie Country Club was described by Sub-Inspector Haiiey in the Police Court to-day, when Harry C. Burton was charged on summons with permitting liquor in a restaurant and in a dance hall Mr. Trevor Henry appeared for defendant, who pleaded guilty. Mr. Harley said no liquor was found in any of the lockers So far as the conduct of the club and the behaviour of patrons was concerned no exception could be taken. Mr. Henry said defendant had only recently taken over the premises' Such a place was difficult to control but Burton had always conducted the club in a proper manner On one charge Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M., imposed a fine of £10, defendant being convicted and ordered to pay costs on the other.
